Standard Microcapsule project has won two awards

Recently, Standard Biology's project "Research and Industrial Application of Key Technology and Process for Veterinary Drug Microencapsulation" has been awarded the second prize of the Guangdong Province Agricultural Technology Extension Award and the second prize of the Foshan High-tech Progress Award.

The project primarily aimed to break through the key technology of spray congealing microencapsulation granulation, to build a common platform for veterinary drug microencapsulation, and to establish and implement a veterinary GMP granule/premix production line using the key technology of spray congealing microencapsulation. It involved selecting appropriate surfactants, emulsifiers, thickeners, antioxidants, and other materials based on the different characteristics of the drugs and their testing requirements, and formulating microencapsulation process recipes for different drugs. This has enabled more than ten of the company's products to successfully undergo microencapsulation formulation transformation, such as Albendazole Ivermectin Premix (Chong Li Hei), Timicosin Premix (Hu Lan Kang), Florfenicol Powder (Hu Yuan Kang), Compound Sulfamethoxypyridazine Premix (Wu Ti Zhi Ling), and Fenbendazole Granules (Zhengdian Zhong Kang), among others.

The microencapsulation technology has successfully applied for 20 related patents, of which 3 have been granted. Two new veterinary drugs with microencapsulation processes have been developed: Timicosin Sustained-Release Granules and Florfenicol Sustained-Release Granules, which are currently undergoing clinical trials and will proceed with the registration of new veterinary drugs.



 Relying on the technological breakthrough of this project, Standard Biology took the lead in realizing the application of slow-release microcapsule technology in veterinary drugs, especially in anti-parasitic drugs, and achieved the industrial technical transformation to realize the mass production and sales of microcapsule technology products. The microcystic veterinary drug products successfully avoid many disadvantages of traditional powder veterinary drugs, such as poor palatability, pungent smell, poor stability, large irritation, not easy to store, unable to slow release and targeted drug delivery and so on. More importantly, it can effectively reduce the amount of drugs used and reduce the risk of drug abuse and misuse. It not only saves drug expenses for the breeding industry and improves the economic benefits of breeding, but also reduces the pollution impact of veterinary drugs on the environment, and improves the safety of animal food. Microcystic veterinary drug products have been recognized by the market since their launch.
