On July 28, the 7th Chinese Veterinary Pharmacopoeia Committee and the 2025 edition were held in Beijing. The meeting held that the work of the last Veterinary Pharmacopeia Committee has achieved remarkable results, effectively improving the level of veterinary drug standards in China, the veterinary drug standard system is gradually clear, and the technical foundation for the healthy development of the veterinary drug industry is more solid.
The meeting stressed that the current veterinary drug standards are not scientific classification, the standard implementation is not in place, the standard management system is not sound. We should scientifically understand the importance of veterinary drug standards, strive to build a scientific standard and effective veterinary drug standard system, and support the high-quality development of veterinary drug industry with the "most rigorous standards".
The meeting called for adhering to the people-centered development philosophy, encouraging good veterinary drugs, eliminating poor veterinary drugs, and cracking down on fake and inferior veterinary drugs. We should do a solid job in the compilation of the seventh edition of the veterinary pharmacopoeia, and pay attention to reflect the universality, practicability and advanced nature of the national standards for veterinary drugs. We should promptly improve the management system for veterinary drug standards, speed up the study and promulgation of the Measures for the Administration of Veterinary Drug Standards, and straighten out the working direction and working mechanism of veterinary drug standards. Efforts should be made to strengthen research on veterinary drugs and do a good job in the supply and management of veterinary drug standards. It is necessary to give full play to the supporting and coordinating role of the Office of the Veterinary Pharmacopoeia Committee to provide technical support for the administrative decision-making and supervision and law enforcement of veterinary drug management.
The revision of national veterinary drug standards is becoming more and more clear, scientific and standardized, and the standards and supervision of chemical drugs and traditional Chinese medicine preparations are becoming more rigorous and strict, forcing enterprises to meet the new standards through technological innovation.
