On July 20,2021, the 2021 (8th) "Dahuanong Scholarship" Academic Forum was heldin the academic report hall on the fifth floor of the comprehensive building ofthe Lanzhou Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine. Wang A-Ming,Vice President of Zhaoqing Dahuanong Biology Medicine Co., Ltd., Zheng Haixue,Director of the Lanzhou Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine,and Luo Jianxun, Deputy Director of the Institute, attended the openingceremony of the forum. Professor Fang Quan from the Basic Medical College ofLanzhou University, Professor Zhang Wenhua from the School of Life Sciences ofLanzhou University, Researcher Wang Qi from the Urban Agriculture ResearchInstitute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Researcher ZhuZixiang and Associate Researcher Niu Qingli from our Institute served as judgesof the forum. More than 60 doctoral and master's students from our Instituteand members of the fifth outstanding college students' summer camp participatedin this forum.
The academicforum was presided over by Deputy Director Zhu Qiyun. First, on behalf of theresearch institute, Deputy Director Zhu Qiyun expressed gratitude to ZhaoqingDahuanong Biology Medicine Co., Ltd. for its strong support in the training ofgraduate students at the institute. He affirmed the enthusiasm of the graduatestudents participating in the evaluation and encouraged the students to valuethe opportunity to learn and communicate with the judges.
Vice PresidentWang A-Ming expressed his gratitude in his opening speech for the institute'slong-term attention to the "Dahua Agricultural Scholarship." Onbehalf of the company, he hoped that the establishment of this scholarshipwould help more ambitious young people realize their life values and motivatestudents at the research institute to study diligently and achieve academicsuccess. He also wished the forum a complete success.
A total of 20graduate students participated in the selection for this forum, including fourdoctoral students and 16 master's students, which was conducted simultaneouslyonline and offline. The participants attached great importance to this forum,meticulously preparing PPT presentations on their research content andachievements obtained during their graduate studies, and presented themconfidently and gracefully. The judges at the scene provided feedback on eachstudent's performance, offering guidance and suggestions on refining scientifictopics and focusing research directions.
In the end, thejudges scored and evaluated the participants based on nine aspects: the noveltyof the research topic, the completeness of the work, the advancement of themethods, the breakthroughs in progress, the solidity of the professionalknowledge, the stage achievements already made, the language organization andexpression ability, the aesthetics of the PPT, and the overall performance. Theawards were as follows:

HonorableMention (5 winners): Zhang Xinming, Li Xian, ShiMiao, Li Yanping, Qian Bang
The judgespresented the winners with certificates of honor to encourage theirachievements.
Thanks to thedonation from Zhaoqing Dahuanong Biology Medicine Co., Ltd., our institute hasheld eight sessions of the "Dahua Agricultural Scholarship" AcademicForum, awarding a total of 26 doctoral students and 105 master's students. Theholding of this scholarship academic forum has provided a good communicationplatform for students and expert judges of the research institute, which hasimproved the work enthusiasm of our graduate students, set a learning examplefor the graduate students in the institute, and received a good response amongthe students.
